Touring Australia for the first time in conjunction with the Audible Edge Experimental Music Festival in Boorloo, these two projects both explore verbatim historical texts through lithe ensemble playing. Drawing on garage rock, jazz modalities and minimalist repetition, songs are both tightly structured and gloriously open to chance.

Cal Folger Day (Baltimore, USA)

'gráinne,' a retelling of the Irish myth, was released as a tiktok-style video soap opera with original music in 2024. 'Piece-dye' is an album built around an interview with a great aunt about her midcentury career in the textile design industry. ZOONOSIS.ie was developed with Dublin Youth Theatre as a investigation of our changing relationship with nature during the pandemic. 'The Woods and Grandma' remembers the folklorist Augusta Gregory.

Phil Christie (Dublin, Ireland)

'Greater Than Or Equal To The Bonk' (2023) was released through boutique label thirtythree45, garnering critical praise nationally and internationally. Phil is currently finalising 'Zingin' with producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy (Lankum, Black Midi) which blends autobiographical vignettes and historical found text, based largely around the transcendent description of hunger strike by former revolutionary and Irish Minister for Posts and Telegraph, Michael Hilliard.
